FSC® Chain Award for residential high-rise 100Hoog Rotterdam

Considerable thought was given to the design of the wood. In the end, a shiplap siding was chosen with a groove in the middle and corners that are slightly less rounded. According to the architect Berghuis, the latter creates a more attractive shadow effect. The flats are adorned with a pattern of glazing, with all boards above and below the seams neatly beveled. Leegwater Houtbereiding prepared 30,000 m of Douglas fir for the project. The wood was preservative treated, treated with fire retardant and finished at the company’s workshops in Heerhugowaard (NL).
