Student Experience Minervahaven Amsterdam

About

On Moermanskade at Minervahaven in Amsterdam, Student Experience has realised its fourth student complex in Amsterdam. This is an ‘extended-stay’ facility with 600 hotel rooms for (foreign) students, researchers and PhD students enrolled at one of Amsterdam’s universities or colleges for a teaching or research period of one week to a maximum of one year. In addition to hotel rooms, the location includes communal facilities such as a lounge, game corner, private dining, study rooms, fitness room and laundrette. There is a sports field on the roof, in addition to several roof gardens.

Student Experience Minervahaven is currently ranked as the most sustainable student complex in Europe. Energy is generated via PV panels on the south, west and east facade. The façade of the inner ring consists of vertically placed wooden Douglas fir battens. We gave this timber a fire-retardant treatment, preserved it and then coated it with Sansin Enviro Stain Woodsealer, which protects the wood and gives it a beautiful, even greying of the wood.
